Herbst Kinsky advised Mangrove Capital Partners as lead investor in the course of a EUR 6 million series-A financing round regarding Finmatics GmbH.

Founded in 2000, Mangrove Capital Partners is a venture capital firm based in Luxembourg. The firm invests in companies operating in the software, internet, data and technology sectors across Europe and Israel.

In 2016, Christoph Prieler, Ulrich Troeller and Patrick Sagmeister founded Abacus Accounting Technologies GmbH. Abacus became Finmatics GmbH in spring 2021 with the intention of establishing artificial intelligence for the automation of accounting as the gold standard in the long term, in order to make tedious accounting workflows easier for all accountants.

“An exciting mandate that unites two worlds. On the one hand, the experienced international VC Mangrove Capital and, on the other, the up-and-coming AI start-up Finmatics. Mangrove Capital, who have already relied on our expertise in the past, are investing here in an innovative company in the growth phase, a perfect match,” says Philipp Kinsky, partner at Herbst Kinsky.

The transaction team at Herbst Kinsky was led by Philipp Kinsky and Carl Walderdorff (both Corporate/VC) supported by Anna-Maria Minihold (IP/IT) and Leopold Gottsauner-Wolf (Corporate/VC).
