Herbst Kinsky advised the Austrian Province of Lower Austria and the Lower Austrian Provincial Health Agency on the procurement of contracts for the development, planning, execution and technical management of the new construction of the Landesklinikum Wiener Neustadt by way of a total contractor.
The Landesklinikum Wiener Neustadt will comprise approximately 680 beds on a gross floor area of around 105,000 m2. In addition to the new clinic building, further interface projects are planned.
The contract for the overall project with a contract volume of around EUR 410 mio was awarded to the bidding consortium consisting of VAMED Standortentwicklung und Engineering GmbH and PORR Bau GmbH at the end of August 2021. The project realization already started at the beginning of September and is expected to last until 2030.
“The cooperation with the team of Herbst Kinsky regarding this procurement procedure which is currently the largest building construction project in the state of Lower Austria was characterized by an extremely professional approach, tireless commitment and a great deal of courage to think innovatively. The particular challenge in this project was, among other things, to optimally combine the areas of “technology” and “law”. This task was mastered sovereign,” says Hofrat Dipl. Ing. Josef Bichler, Head of the Department of Structural Engineering of the Province of Lower Austria.
The team of Herbst Kinsky was led by partner Dr. Christoph Herbst supported by attorney Dr. Valerie Mayer (public commercial law/procurement law) and associate Dr. Alexander Lotz (civil law).
