Herbst Kinsky advises WESTbahn Management GmbH on the exchange of its entire train set fleet.

The transaction was implemented in two steps. In a first step, the existing KISS 1 and KISS 2 multiple-unit trains were sold to Deutsche Bahn, which intends to use these vehicles to offer new Intercity services in Brandenburg, Saxony and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Specifically, the multiple units are to be used as Intercity 2 on the new Dresden – Berlin – Rostock line. In a second step, 15 new KISS 3 multiple-unit trains will be acquired by Stadler Rail AG under a finance lease. The parties have agreed not to disclose the economic terms of the transaction.
