Herbst Kinsky advised IST cube since its foundation in 2017 and on all closings, such as most recently on the international closing of over EUR 40 mio with more than 20 private and institutional investors such as the European Investment Fund (EIF), Institute of Science and Technology Austria (IST Austria), N.vest Unternehmensfinanzierung of Landes Niederösterreich GmbH, aws Venture Fonds GmbH and VIVECA Beteiligungen GmbH. In the course of the current closing, IST Cube Management GmbH was also registered as EuVECA manager.

The venture fund initiated by IST Austria has already been investing in life science and tech startups from the academic environment since 2018. The interdisciplinary team of experts at the interface between science and the financial world has so far included eight startups from the fields of medicine, biotechnology, IT and display technology from various Austrian universities of Med Uni Vienna to TU Graz, as well as from IST Austria, in its portfolio. With the recent closing, more than EUR 40 mio are available to develop future-orientated scientific spin-offs – from all over Austria and beyond – into commercially successful organizations.

“Herbst Kinsky´s team has advised us since our foundation and has always distinguished itself through professionalism, know-how and dedication. It is particularly important for us to know that we are in very good hands here, both legally and personally”, says Markus Wanko, Managing Partner at IST cube.

Herbst Kinsky´s team was led by Johannes Frank supported by Christoph Renner.
