Herbst Kinsky Rechtsanwälte GmbH has assisted UPL EUROPE LTD in its entry into Pixofarm GmbH. Pixofarm was supported by Jarolim Partner Rechtsanwälte GmbH in the transaction.

The UPL Group operates globally and aims to become a leading international provider of total organic crop solutions to secure the world’s food supply. UPL’s model brings together the various players in the alimentary system – from farmers and food producers to supermarkets and consumers. UPL is thus creating a network that is changing the way the food industry thinks and works.

Pixofarm GmbH is a venture from the Company Builder of WhatAVenture. The start-up has developed an innovative AI-based solution that enables fruit producers worldwide to optimise their harvest by providing reliable yield monitoring and forecasting data. With this data, fruit producers can increase their production and efficiently plan and optimise their operational activities such as logistics, packaging, warehousing, sales and marketing.

UPL invests a 7-digit amount in the context of a capital increase. With this investment, the companies are launching a strategic partnership to further develop Pixofarm’s solution and market them worldwide.
