Herbst Kinsky Rechtsanwälte GmbH advised ams AG, a leading worldwide manufacturer of high performance sensor and analog solutions, on the acquisition of the CMOS Sensor Business from NXP Semiconductors.

ams is listed on the SIX Swiss stock exchange and has its headquarter in Unterpremstaetten near Graz, Austria. The company’s research and development facilities are located in Austria, the U.S. and eleven further design locations worldwide. Employing over 1,800 people in 20 countries, ams operates direct sales offices in all major regions of the world. The group revenues in 2014 amounted to EUR 464,4 Mio.

The newly enlarged line of ams environmental sensors is anticipated to drive high-value growth opportunities for smart phones, wearables, and other mobile devices as well as for smart buildings and the industrial, medical and automotive markets.
